For the last two years, The Hills District has been in limbo while the council government have been arguing over the community’s future.

NSW Planning Minister Anthony Roberts speaks to Ray Hadley after announcing the rezoning of 270 hectares of land around the Showground Station Precinct.

“I’ve been listening to the concerns of a range of stakeholders, importantly the community.

“I was very keen to resolve the issue by the end of the year.

“No one is ever 100% pleased. What I thought was appropriate was to go back to what was originally put on exhibition.

“They all understand now, this area is going to be transformed into a dynamic area.

“It’s important we harness the benefits of that $20 billion Sydney metro infrastructure project.”
