The Customer Service Minister has explained how the Service NSW vaccine passport will work after trial dates were announced.

A trial of the new system will commence on October 6 in the regions for two weeks, with specific locations to be determined.

NSW Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello told Mark Levy people will have to manually consent for their vaccine certificate to be used within the Service NSW app.

“It’s not going to happen unless you want it to happen. This is an opt-in.”

The Minister says a safeguard QR code and the addition of a hologram onto the vaccination certificate will work to combat fraud.
