Article image for Health Minister believes there is an ‘urgency’ to get COVID booster shot

Numbers for younger people receiving the COVID booster shot are low with less than a third of people eligible in NSW.

When asked if this was a cause of concern NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard told Jim Wilson, “absolutely”.

With Omicron cases still high the Minister of Health has reiterated his viewpoint for individuals to get the vaccine saying “you really need to go and get it”.

“There’s an urgency about it.”

Mr Hazzard says despite people getting complacent there has been a confusion of who is eligible for the booster, “I think there’s some mixed messaging going on.”

“Short answer is don’t take any chances, go and get boosted.”
