A record-equalling $100-million lottery prize is up for grabs tonight night, the largest in Powerball’s 22-year history.

A jackpot this size has only ever been offered once before in Australia back in 2012.

If one lucky winner secures the jackpot tonight, it will set an Australian record for the largest individual lottery prize ever won.

The current record is held by a Hervey Bay couple who took home $70 million in 2016.

Macquarie Graduate School of Management Professor John Croucher tells Ross Greenwood he’s got his ticket and the chances of winning areĀ one in 134,490,400.

Professor Croucher says the best way to increase your chances is to “buy more tickets, that’s the only way”.
