Harris Farm boss David Harris has been listening intently to 2GB, determined on getting to the bottom of a price debate.

A debate ensued on Afternoons after a listener claimed an Orange Harris Farm was selling cauliflower for $24 a kilo.

Mr Harris heard the claims from listeners and decided to put his produce prices to the test.

“I was alarmed to hear someone say they’re only 300 grams each,” he told Deborah Knight.

“I rang my manager and said ‘I want you to go weigh individually each of the cauliflowers’.

“The majority weighed in at between 1.35 and 1.5 kilos so, in fact, it’s about five bucks a kilo.”
