Happy ‘You Day’: Is this the PC move of the decade?

Article image for Happy ‘You Day’: Is this the PC move of the decade?

Apparently, we can’t celebrate Mother’s Day anymore without offending someone.

UK supermarket chain Waitrose has removed the word ‘mother’ from their celebratory card to be “more inclusive”.

Instead of Happy Mother’s Day, the card reads “Happy You Day.”

Alice Springs councillor Jacinta Price tells Steve it’s beyond ridiculous.

“I feel like we’re now going backwards.

“I didn’t spend that amount of time in labour, bringing up my boys, to have that particular day taken away from me.

“We just need to leave it alone. Let us be.”

Ms Price says she wouldn’t be surprised if Australian supermarket chains followed suit.

With two months until the Australian Mother’s Day, we’ll have to wait to find out.
