Macquarie National News

A man is fighting for life after crashing his hang glider in the NSW Central Tablelands yesterday.

Just before 1.30pm, emergency services were called to Stubbo Road at Stubbo, about 40km north of Mudgee.

A 67-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established as investigators looked into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has been notified as well.

More information to come…

It comes less than three weeks after one man was killed and another critically injured in a hang glider crash in the state’s north.

On October 30, a 67-year-old instructor and his 26-year-old student fell from their hang glider at Lennox Head.

The older man died while the student suffered critical head injuries.
