Phil ‘Gus’ Gould is tipping the Latrell-less South Sydney Rabbitohs to knock the Manly Sea Eagles out of the comp, based on “sheer form”.

The legendary rugby league commentator told James Willis Wayne Bennett’s Rabbitohs, well-rested from two weeks off and having eked out a tough win over the Panthers, will be hard to beat.

“[Wayne Bennett’s] been down this road many, many times.

“It’s [his] dedication to his craft, he doesn’t really have that many interests outside of football.

“He’s been able to adapt with the times … to be still relevant with the young players that we have today.”
