Growing calls for kids to help plug labour shortage

There are calls to use children as young as 13 to help plug Australia’s labour shortages.

The Australian Retailers Association says the inconsistencies in minimum age across the country are unhelpful.

Restaurants and Catering Association CEO Belinda Clarke told Ben Fordham “it’s a practical solution”.

“I think we need a consistent minimum age … that will offer over 100,000 kids to be able to join the workforce.”
