Ray Hadley has called out Defence Minister Richard Marles for failing to stand up to General Angus Campbell.

The chief of the Australian Defence Force demanded senior officers justify why they should keep their medals or risk having them taken off them.

But Mr Marles has indicated the generals in Afghanistan will not be stripped of their medals, with the penalty ­reserved for those who directly led the troops.

Ray Hadley told his Mornings listeners, the Defence Minister should stand up to the Defence Force chief.

“You need to grow a set here, Richard Marles,” Ray said, “stop being subservient to Angus Campbell!”
