The north-west Queensland town of Cloncurry has claimed a win after Westpac postponed the closure of eight regional branches.

Residents have been fighting to prevent the closure since the bank announced its plans earlier this month.

Robbie Katter, the Member for Traeger, told Ray Hadley it’s a great success for the community.

“Delighted to hear and it’s really important we thank you for everything you’ve done,” he said.

“That’s a great result for the people, Ray,  and we owe you a lot there but we’re still going to keep them on their toes.”
