The government has unveiled plans to regulate Artificial Intelligence, responding to an urgent call for global priority to mitigate extinction risks from AI.

This comes after leading AI developers issued an open letter likening the potential risks of AI to nuclear war and pandemics.

Ed Husic, the Minister for Industry and Science, spoke to Deborah Knight, noting the importance of recognising the benefits of AI, while also acknowledging the risks involved.
