Government not budging on kids’ mental health
The Australian Children’s Wellbeing Index has highlighted big challenges around poverty and mental health but Minister for Family and Social Services Amanda Rishworth has refused to commit to a rethink of the decision to slash Medicare-funded psychology appointments from 20 to 10.
Deb Knight pushed the Minister to commit to getting the appointments back on track to help children facing mental health issues.
“So that is a no,” Deb said.
