The states and the federal governments have signed a major agreement worth $25 billion to fund hospitals over the next five years.

NSW Health Minister Ryan Park told Clinton Maynard it’s been a long time coming.

“This is certainly a good, good step in the right direction,” he said.

He’s also addressed there’s more work to be done for the state’s ageing population, who end up placing high demand on the health system.

“We’ve got a number of patients now that we can’t get out of our hospital beds into aged care residences and places,” he added.
