New legislation will aim to call Healthscope’s bluff as the government seeks to terminate their contract, according to Independent MP Michael Regan.

He claims it’s a great step that will aim to speed up negotiations with the private hospital operator so the Northern Beaches Hospital can get “back into the hands of the public”.

“Healthscope has said we don’t want to get a windfall gain, but we want to do this to the terms of the deed. The deed says you get a windfall gain. So …  you’re either fair dinkum or you’re not,” he told 2GB Sydney Now.
