Former Australian cricket captain David Warner could be thrown a lifeline.

Cricket Australia has altered its code of conduct to allow for penalties to be reconsidered on good behaviour.

Warner would be able to appeal his lifetime leadership ban after the ball-tampering saga in 2018.

“I’ve shared plenty of critical comments about David Warner since 2018,” Ben said.

“But it’s time we gave him an opportunity to move on and make up for his mistakes.

“Put simply, the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.”
