NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has failed to commit to presenting Shane Fitzsimmons having a job in the NSW public service moving forward.

The long-term role of Shane Fitzsimmons in emergency management is under a cloud following confirmation Resilience New South Wales will be wound up in the wake of this year’s floods.

It will be replaced by a much smaller ‘Recovery New South Wales’.

Mr Perrottet failed to confirm what future role Commissioner Fitzsimmons will play.

“I will work through those issues with Shane,” he told Jim Wilson.

“People are getting lost in the personality, this is not about personality.”
