Ben Fordham has ripped into The Minister for Indigenous Australians for trying to “shame” people who have reservations about The Voice proposal.

Linda Burney told the ABC voting on The Voice is a question of morals and is using words like “shameful” and “backward” when discussing those who aren’t on board.

“It’s not a question of having a “moral compass”, Linda and to suggest something like that is as naive as it is nasty,” Ben said.

“Shameful is bad-mouthing people with a different opinion. Shameful is questioning the ‘moral compass’ of people who aren’t convinced. Shameful is forgetting that we live in a democracy.

“If this is your way of trying to convince people to come over to your side, you need to get some help!”
