Treasurer Jim Chalmers has announced a lot of assistance for those on unemployment benefits in the new Federal Budget, but the working-class are frustrated about how their taxes are being spent.

2GB listener, Peter, said, “It makes me so angry that I’m paying for someone else to sit at home.”

One man benefiting from these welfare benefits is Jez Heywood, who is a 47-year-old unemployed graphic designer that hasn’t had a job in six years.

Jez says he is “unimpressed” with the government’s JobSeeker increase, saying “You have to weigh up every financial decision you make,” when unemployed.

“Why don’t you ‘weigh up’ getting a job?!,” said Ben.
