The Heart Foundation is calling for more regular checkups to detect individuals’ heart health, however, the tests available are not covered by medicare.

Prevention is key, but not being covered under private health insurance a lot of people cannot afford these tests.

Sports Physician Dr Peter Larkins told Jim Wilson, “The frustration now is preventive testing is not covered by the government”.

“The government has always drawn a line through it saying no you have to pay for it yourself.
