Former minister furious over stall on Warragamba Dam decision

A Former Labor minister has added to mounting pressure on the NSW Premier to green-light raising the Warragamba Dam wall.

Dominic Perrottet is seeking a 50-50 funding split with the Commonwealth to raise the dam by 14 metres but it’s expected Anthony Albanese won’t come to the party.

John Brown told Ray Hadley “it’s ridiculous” the dam hasn’t been improved since its creation.

“They’ve just ignored it,” Mr Brown said. “Every government has been recommended to have this thing done.

“This shouldn’t be happening in a modern city! We’ll never stop flooding out there … but we can alleviate it if they build this wall.”
