Flood hero in tears as he gets a surprise live on radio
A team of volunteer tradies has been helping a flood-affected town with their air conditioners in Eugowra – 300 kilometres west of Sydney.
David Conyers who works as a teacher in his local tafe in Bathurst and his team initially went in to check the fridges after the town was inundated with historic floodwater – leaving 80 per cent of homes and businesses damaged.
They’ve so far replaced 114 air conditioners across the town
He’s told Ben Fordham, it’s good soul food.
“We have about 31 different tradies helping us.”
