The federal Finance Minister is defending the support being offered to states hit hardest by the Omicron COVID wave.

The NSW Government has been working to develop a JobSaver style package and has been asking for help from Canberra to cover the cost.

“Why are you leaving us on our own?” Ben Fordham asked Finance Minister Simon Birmingham.

The Minister insists there is plenty of federal support currently provided.

“We’ve got millions of dollars coming into NSW, in terms of pandemic leave disaster payments, to support people.”
