Building giant Metricon is in urgent crisis talks with clients amid fears about its future.

Metricon bosses are expected to meet with major clients including the Victorian Government today.

The company employs around 2500 staff across the country, with roughly 4000 homes under construction.

Acting CEO Peter Langfelder has denied the company has solvency issues.

The concerns come after co-founder Mario Biasin died unexpectedly earlier this week.

Earlier this year, building companies Probuild and Condev went into liquidation.
