Father who lost son in car crash shares powerful message on road safety

Peter McGuinness has shared a powerful message on road safety for young people.

The first funeral of the five teenagers killed in the Buxton car crash has been held today.

In 2012, Peter and his wife Melisssa lost their son Jordan in a car crash when he was 18-years-old.

There were four other young teens in the car who all died.

Now he is a representative for “You Choose Road Safety” and Mr McGuinness told Jim Wilson road safety education is absolutely paramount for young Aussies.

“We encourage teenagers to reflect on their lack of intent to cause harm does not make harm caused by their choices an accident,” he said.

“The bridge is choice. We challenge teenagers to uplift each other and take accountability for the choices that they make to protect each other.”
