Farmers fighting back against $4 billion project
Regional residents are heading to NSW Parliament to fight back against a renewable energy development in the NSW countryside.
The Hume Link, designed to work alongside Snowy 2.0, involves 360 kilometres of transmission lines in the regions.
More than 600 landowners are demanding the lines be built underground.
Michael and Rebecca live in a few of the affected properties, telling Ben Fordham their “farms are an embodiment of who we are”.
They argue the conductors will attract lighting and “almost certainly cause many more bushfires than we’ve had in the past”.
