Family’s beloved dog miraculously survives being thrown from home by tornado

Clinton Maynard

A Bathurst tornado victim has been reunited with a beloved pet swept away by the shock weather event.

Meadow Flat resident Anne Beecroft’s miniature Pomeranian Pom Pom was inside a wheat silo when it was flung over 300m by the tornado.

Partner Scott, himself injured and bleeding, refused to be taken by ambulance until he found Pom Pom under a pine tree.

“We don’t understand how she survived,” Anne told Jim Wilson.

“It is such a miracle.

“We are so unlucky, but at the same time so lucky – we all survived, all of our animals survived.”

The family are fundraising for clean-up and to pay the vet bills via GoFundMe.
