The new film Falling for Figaro hits the screen today starring acclaimed Aussie actor Danielle Macdonald.

The film tells the story of a finance high-flyer who leaves her job to become an opera singer.

Danielle joined Deb Knight on Afternoons to talk about the film and her eye-opening journey into the opera world.

“There’s something that always seemed to be really elite about opera but … it’s strangely accessible if you’re looking for it,” she said.

“It’s a rom com, but then it uses some of the most famous opera songs that we all know.”
