‘Failing to teach?’ – Students with ATARs below 50 accepted into teaching degrees

Australian universities are under fire for admitting students with ATARs as low as 39 into teaching degrees, despite the national entry benchmark being 70.

Trisha Jha from the Centre for Independent Studies says while the teacher shortage is real, letting in underprepared students may do more harm than good.
