The reading of a Banjo Patterson poem has caused a stir at a planning meeting of Cumberland City Council.

Paul Garrard had begun to read “The Man from Ironbark” when Labor councillor Mohamad Hussein interrupted.

Councillor Garrard says the verbal abuse was quite a scene.

He’s told Ben Fordham, he was taken aback and he wants the State Labor leader to do something about it.
