A local legend on the Northern Beaches, Hugo, a Year Nine student with achondroplasia, is facing a mighty challenge that threatens to derail his cross-country goals.

He has been barred from pursuing his love of long-distance running due to a medical decision made by School Sport Australia, which they say is based on guidelines from Athletics Australia.
