ut at the end of 2024, Sydney Markets unexpectedly terminated his employment.

Statement from Sydney Markets Limited to 2GB, 18 September 2026:

Following a thorough investigation, Sydney Markets Limited commenced proceedings in the Federal Court concerning alleged misconduct by a former employee involving transactions exceeding $1 million.

The allegations are serious and go to the heart of the integrity, accountability and standards of conduct expected of individuals entrusted with positions of responsibility.

Sydney Markets exists to serve a community of more than 1,200 shareholders, many of whom are small business operators whose livelihoods depend on the success and reputation of the Markets.

The conduct alleged in the proceedings is contrary to the values and standards expected by that community.

We take this matter incredibly seriously and are focused on ensuring the former employee is held accountable through the appropriate legal process.

Sydney Markets will not be providing further commentary as the matter is now before the Federal Court. Sydney Markets, its Board and management remain committed to acting in the best interests of the Sydney Markets community.
