EXCLUSIVE: Police investigate animal cruelty at Sydney private school

Ben Fordham
Kings School

The King’s School in Sydney has revealed that a goanna was tortured and killed by a group of senior students at their annual cadet camp last term.

Ben Fordham received an anonymous tip-off from a 2GB listener regarding the events, and King’s has now responded.

“Staff from King’s reported the matter to Police and Defence…The school does not condone the behaviour of these students,” the school said in an exclusive statement.

“As the incident is now in the hands of police, the school cannot comment any further,” said King’s School.

NSW Police have told 2GB in a statement:

Officers from The Hills Police Area Command have commenced an investigation following the unlawful killing of a goanna at Singleton.

Police have been told the reptile was allegedly killed on the afternoon of Wednesday 29 March 2023 at a school camp.

As investigations continue, anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
