The NRL is open to welcoming back Israel Folau under the condition he deletes his controversial social media post.

Rugby League star Israel Folau is taking Rugby Australia to the Fair Work Commission after they terminated his contract when he refused to remove an image he posted on social media.

The controversial image said all homosexuals will go to hell.

His father, a Christian pastor has reportedly told him if he deletes it he will go to hell.

He is now reportedly seeking up to $10 million in damages after he was purportedly willing to offer the NRL the chance to vet any future religious social media posts in exchange for his return.

NRL Commission Chairman Peter Beattie has said Folau is not welcome back.

A source has told Ben Fordham that Mr Beattie’s position is not shared by everyone in the league and Mr Folau could be welcomed back if he deletes the controversial social media post.

“Unless that happens there’s no way the NRL will welcome him back,” says Ben.

“It all comes down to Israel Folau as he wrestles with this most difficult mix of football, faith, and family.”
