Minister to impose harsher penalties on overheight trucks
The NSW Metropolitan Roads Minister has asked her department to look at increasing the penalty for overheight trucks that cause the closure of key arterial roads.
There have been multiple incidents involving oversize vehicles getting stuck in the Harbour Tunnel, causing hours of delays.
A fourth incident this week forced the brief closure of the tunnel southbound during the morning commute.
Minister Natalie Ward told Ray Hadley the drivers are in the wrong, and there is no excuse for it.
