EXCLUSIVE: Manly legend to take on Clive Churchill medal honour

Ray Hadley has revealed that Manly legend Cliff Lyons will present the Clive Churchill Medal this season after Eels legend Peter Sterling confirmed that he would be unavailable for this year’s grand final.
“The Commission after agreement with the Churchill family has decided on a new tradition for the awarding of the Clive Churchill medal, being former winners of the medal going back to 1986,” the NRL said in a statement sent to Ray.
“Unfortunately, Peter Sterling the inaugural winner is not available this year. Cliff Lyons, the winner in 1987 will present the medal. Peter Sterling will present the medal in 2024.”
