The countdown is on as the second Avatar movie is about to arrive in cinemas after 13 years.

James Cameron’s Avatar came out in 2009 and made $2.7 billion, a box office record.

Aussie actor Sam Worthington, who stars in the film, told Deborah Knight the franchise creator took a hands-on approach when filming the sequel.

“James raises the stakes in these movies, his track record is pretty good at elevating the story and keeping it familiar.”

New Zealand actor Cliff Curtis says it was an intimate filming experience.

“It always felt like a small independent movie, despite how massive the franchise is.”

Avatar: The Way of Water will be released in cinemas worldwide on December 15th 2022.
