‘Even when we offer a bribe people don’t want them’: Ben Fordham slams government approach on electric cars
Ben Fordham has slammed the government’s handling of electric cars amid the sky-high costs associated with them.
A new study says the price of petrol would have to double to make an electric car a cheaper alternative.
Only 1,589 people have applied for a $3,000 NSW government rebate that was offered five months ago for the first 25,000 applicants.
“Even when they offer a bribe, people don’t want to buy,” Ben said.
“If we’re going to make the switch, we’re going to have to scrap the import taxes or, better still, build them here.”
