2GB Executive Producer James Willis has lifted the lid on his fiery conversation with ABC journalist Mark Willacy after they abandoned their Defence in a defamation case against a war hero Heston Russell.

Willis revealed details of an awkward phone call with Willacy, the journalist at the centre of the story, after 2GB asked questions about the case last November when court action was getting underway,

“He launched into a two-to-three minute spray where he was very angry at you (Ben Fordham) and very angry at 2GB’s coverage of his story,” Willis said on 2GB’s Ben Fordham Live.
