EPA gets to the bottom of western Sydney’s newest stench

The landfill facilities behind western Sydney’s newest stench have been sent legal notices.

Last year, the Bingo landfill facility was found to be behind a disgusting odour permeating homes in Minchinbury and surrounding suburbs.

While that issue was resolved, another smell has taken over and Environmental Protection Authority’s Executive Director Steve Beaman told Ben Fordham this time it’s down to a number of facilities.

“Unprocessed garden waste from the SUEZ facility and processed mixed waste from the GRL facility.

“By the fourth of March [the piles] will be gone.”
