Energy finance analyst from the Institute for Energy Economics Bruce Robertson has weighed in on the plans for a new cap on gas and coal.

Labor will impose a fixed price on gas and it’s widely reported they are looking at a cap of $13 a gigajoule through a mandatory code of conduct.

Some businesses have recently been quoted at up to $45 for the same product.

The Prime Minister will also ask the states to place a cap on coal of $125 per tonne.

Bruce Robertson has a report in response to the government’s plan.

“What is a fair price for domestic gas?”

Bruce told Ben Fordham his report can differentiate from the government’s and won’t “mislead the public”.
