NSW Transport officials are launching a review into the troubled Emerald ferries after a vessel was out of action three times in one week.

The fleet’s horror stories continue as a ferry suffered a steering failure and another sprayed fuel and hot oil into the engine bay after springing a leak.

Daily Telegraph reporter Lachlan Leeming told Jim Wilson, the review will have a renewed focus on building ferries in Australia.

“They are duds, they’re lemons,” Jim said.
