Chris O’keefe has unloaded on Victorian Premier Dan Andrews following his decision to axe the 2026 Commonwealth Games due to financial concerns.

The Premier claimed the event would be “well and truly too much for a 12-day sporting event” after the cost to host the Games blew out to $7 billion, nearly triple the original estimate of $2.6 billion.

Andrews said the funds would be better spent on schools and hospitals.

“Dan Andrews has sent Victoria broke. That’s what it’s all about, they are flat-out broke,” O’keefe said.
