The NSW Education Minister has expressed her disappointment at the teachers’ strike planned for next week.

Public school teachers will walk off the job next Wednesday, seeking a pay rise of 5.7 per cent and demanding staff shortages be addressed.

The union is encouraging members to walk off school grounds when a government MP enters.

Sarah Mitchell told Ben Fordham “having these sorts of tactics … it’s pretty childish”.

“Students need to be at school … please don’t get involved in this strike action.”
