The NSW Education Minister is urging students to attend class on Friday instead of attending the global climate strike.

Top Sydney universities are telling students they will not be penalised for participating in the upcoming School Strike 4 Climate on September 20.

The global strike will likely see thousands of Australian students skip school to take part and put pressure on the federal government to address climate change.

NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell tells Steve Price children should protest out of school hours.

“It should be after 3:30, on a weekend… ultimately parents should be sending their kids to school on Friday.”
