The NSW Education Minister has a strong message for thousands of students expected to skip school to attend climate strikes.

The nationwide School Strike 4 Climate is demanding Australia switch to 100 per cent renewable energy by 2030.

The NSW Teachers Federation is supporting the protest.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell told Ben Fordham children need to be in school.

“I completely disagree with the union on this.

“These are things that should happen after school and on the weekends.”
