A man who killed a 33-year-old cyclist in 2016 will now be able to get his licence back six months earlier.

38-year-old Mohammed Abbasher Fageer hit Ann Formaz-Preston while rounding a corner on Mona Vale Road at Pymble on Sydney’s north shore.

Fageer cut her off as she coasted down the hill towards him and she slammed into the passenger side of his car.

The impact cut open her neck and caused lacerations to her chest, eye and both legs.

By the time an ambulance arrived, she was dead.

The 33-year-old doctor had the world at her feet, having just completed medical school.

In November last year, Fageer was sentenced to just 300 hours community service and disqualified from driving for two years.

Ray Hadley reveals that sentence has been overturned by District Court Judge Helen Syme on appeal.

While the 300 hours of community service still stands, Fageer disqualification period has been reduced to just 18 months.
