Former deputy chief medical officer Dr Nick Coatsworth is hopeful Australians will be reunited as vaccination rates climb.

There have been concerns Australians won’t be reunited interstate after Queensland, WA and Tasmania indicated they won’t open borders at 80 per cent vaccination.

Dr Coatsworth told Ben Fordham vaccination is key to living a COVID normal.

“I’m very confident that the borders will open up with increasing vaccination rates and Australians will see that it’s safe to move about if you’re vaccinated and COVID numbers are under control.”
