A young guitarist has secured a spot in an esteemed music concert, despite coming last in his HSC music class.

18-year-old Jed Williams from Ballina tells Ray Hadley he didn’t place well because he “never went to school”.

“I got lowest in my class in music and somehow I’m here!”

Jed was selected to perform in ENCORE, a concert featuring the most outstanding performances from the HSC music course.

He will perform at the Opera House today, accompanied by his friend, 16-year-old Lachlan Jones.
