Double murderer captured after removing ankle bracelet
A convicted killer has been apprehended in Petersham after forcibly removing his electronic tracking device while on parole.
50-year-old Damien Peters was last seen at Randwick’s Prince of Wales Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Four hours after discharging himself, his monitoring anklet was found in Kensington.
Peters is on parole after serving 15 years in jail for murdering and dismembering two male lovers.
Ben Fordham broke the news of the man’s arrest after slamming all those involved in granting the man parole and allowing him to escape.
“Who decided it would be a good idea to leave him in hospital without supervision and able to check himself out whenever he wanted to?
“Is he going to kill again in the meantime and chop them up too? How does a scumbag like this get so many chances?”

The man is described as having a muscular build, short brown hair and tattoos on his arms, including one of a snake wrapped around a panther.
Police say anyone who sees Peters should not approach him but call Triple Zero immediately.
NSW Police Superintendent Rohan Cramsie tells Ben Fordham they have had lots of input from the community.
“At this stage, we believe he was in the Kensington area yesterday afternoon about 5.30.
“Please, don’t approach him.”
